MEGA LEGENDS alert! Hip hop legends Thundamentals dropped by the station this week (on Valentines Day no less😍) to deliver a jaw droppingly generous cheque of $15 000 BIG ones to help the station and our projects like the Young Black and Deadly Indigenous Youth music mentorship program.
They raised all the money through their 'Got Love' t-shirt campaign which kicked off early last November.

THe Yabun 2019 line-up is...🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Thelma Plum, Isaiah, Shakaya, Roger Knox, Kutcha Edwards, Green Hand Band, Sonboy, Rebecca Hatch and the YBD mob! Opening Ceremony kicks off at 11AM with the first band starting at 11:40.
It's an action packed week leading up to Yabun!
Events kick off Monday Jan 21st at 7PM with Yabun Movie night at NCIE and the screening of the documentary 88. For more info, click here.
On Tuesday Jan 22 there is an Elder's Community Lunch at Redfern Community Centrebetween 12PM and 2PM.
On Thursday Jan 24 there is a Kids Disco at Redfern Community Centre from 5PM 8PM.
On Friday Jan 25 in the evening there is the official Yabun opening with the Sunset Ceremony at La Perouse, It starts at 3PM and goes until 8PM. For more info click here.
This is followed by the Yabun Preparty at the Factory Theatre frm 8PM until late, featuring Shakaya, Trials* (A.B. Original), Nooky, Solo* (Justice Crew), Sonboy, Rebecca Hatach, with special guests Thundamentals. * DJ Set only. For more info or to buy tickets click here.
Then of course there's the BIG event, the Yabun Festival which starts at 10AM and goes until 7PM although many of you will no doubt be arriving with the march which starts from Hyde Park at 11AM and finishes at Yabun at 1PM.
