This major exhibition at Penrith Regional Gallery presents the work of acclaimed First Nations artist Blak Douglas, who grew up in Penrith, studied at Western Sydney Uni and became one Australia’s most recognised artists after winning the Archibald Prize in 2022. This exhibition covers his career so far, from early drawings he did as a teenager to his most recent paintings, as well as sculptures, posters and more. This free exhibition is open to everyone – if you haven’t been to Penrith Regional Gallery right on the river, don’t miss it, there’s a great cafe too. Everyone is welcome at opening night on Saturday March 22, 6pm, and there’s a free artist talk with Blak Douglas and curator Djon Mundine on Sunday March 23 at 11am, no need to book, just drop in.
